Re: install serviceguard on two rp servers
hi there,
Installing Service Guard software does not need msa1000.
All you need is SG depot, it is not free so you need coustomer id and codeword to be able to see in on CD. If you purchased MissionCritical HPUX 11i then it is on CD (not secured) already.
just a swinstall will install it for you.
Once you have SG installed on both of rp3440s then you need to configure shared VGs for packages, we need more information before providing a detailed step by step instructions.
thanks

Re: install serviceguard on two rp servers
Hi,
FYI, ServiceGuard is not a free software, you need to purchase it to get a codeword before you use it.
Here is the good information regarding the serviceguard installation and configuration :
The detail about ServiceGuard on HP website :
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B3935DA
The url (docID : UXSGKBAN00000033) below about 'ServiceGuard Quick Reference' :
http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/search.do?category=c0&mode=id&searchCrit=allwords&docType=Security&docType=Patch&docType=EngineerNotes&docType=BugReports&docType=Hardware&docType=ReferenceMaterials&docType=ThirdParty&searchString=UXSGKBAN00000033
The url below (docID : UMCSGKBRC00010342) about 'ServiceGuard Cluster Implementation Summary' :
http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/search.do?category=c0&prevQueryString=KNC050897003&mode=id&searchString=umcsgkbrc00010342&searchCrit=allwords&docType=Security&docType=Patch&docType=EngineerNotes&docType=BugReports&docType=Hardware&docType=ReferenceMaterials&docType=ThirdParty&dateRange=all
For details information on ServiceGuard (the manuals) :
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/ha.html#Serviceguard
For MSA1000, you need to configure it first with the one that suitable with the MCSG. Check the url below :
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/msa1000/index.html
Hope this information can help you.
Cheers,
AW
