Purchased on-line through HP Reseller (Cypress Technology Inc). Hard Drive was preloaded with HPUX 11.11 Getting ready to deploy quality pack depot but in case of kernal rebuild failure (or other failure) was wondering how do I get the installtion media to rebuild. The Vendor (Cypress) will not provide. I am willing to buy it(if necessary)for piece of mind. Please advise

Re: Installation Media for HPUX-11i Rev1
Already checked Ebay... (for the life of me I do not know why an enterprise class operating system is posted on ebay)
what I was looking for was a direct purchase from HP (reliable source). You know
like the equilivant of a HP/Compaq "restore" cd for Windows (YUK!!!)
Thanks for the quick responses. Guess I am off to ebay. (YUK!!!)

Re: Installation Media for HPUX-11i Rev1
Ignite is free.

If you have a tape drive - then you can ignite locally - if not - then you need to either buy one or setup an Ignite server.

Re: Installation Media for HPUX-11i Rev1
e-mail address, someone might be willing to
discuss offering CD-ROM images over the
network, but a sane person is unlikely to
offer a probable copyright violation on a
forum run by the copyright owner. Unlike
VMS and (formerly) Tru64, HP-UX seems to lack
a useful hobbyist program.
As of December 2006, the FOE was a five-CD
set. I haven't looked at how full they are,
or which ones may be less useful.
(My recent acquisition was a C3700.)
sms@antinode-org (more or less).
