Installing HPUX 10.20
We are having a HP Visualize C3600 machine and already HP 11.x is installed. Now i want to install 10.20, as for development application we need to downgrade the OS. is there any procedure to downgrade the OS or simply boot it from the Installation CD and install the OS along with the latest patch.
Suggestion welcomed.
Regards,
Dayanand Naik

Re: Installing HPUX 10.20
Since your case is a new machine, it is always better to do a cold install instead of an upgrade or downgrade in your case. You don't have to worry about losing database data and stuff.

Re: Installing HPUX 10.20
If you have an ignite tape prior to installing to HPUX 11 that would be the best way to get the system back to 10.20, if not a cold install is the way to go.

Re: Installing HPUX 10.20
Reinstall the OS (10.20) from the core os cd. Since you are downgrading from 11.0 to 10.20, don't suppose you have a ignite backup tape. Fresh install should be the way to go.
hope this helps.
thanks

Re: Installing HPUX 10.20
Second, you will have to do a cold install unless you have a previous make_recovery tape.
