Installing Ignite-UX and Cloning
I am having 3 x rx2660 servers as following:
1) RX1 - Installed with FOE
2) RX2 - No OE
3) RX3 - No OE
I already have FOE installed in RX1. Next I would like to clone RX2 and RX3 from RX1. Heard Ignite-UX can perform such task.
How should I go about installing the Ignite-UX and configuring the RX1 to be the Ignite server?
Thanks

Re: Installing Ignite-UX and Cloning
A better way would be to take a backup of RX1 onto a tape & then boot/install other 2 servers using this tape. This can be achieved using a simple command make_tape_recovery. You can check the manpage of make_tape_recovery for details. And yes, you need to have the Ignite-UX product installed on RX1. It is available free for download or else install from the application software DVD.

Vihang.

Re: Installing Ignite-UX and Cloning
You can use Ignite/UX, the latest version is available to download here:
http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=IGNITEUXB
The full documentation is here:
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5992-3336/5992-3336.pdf
The easiest way is to use a tape, assuming you have the same type of tape drive on the other servers.
You should have a valid HP License for each OS you install.

Re: Installing Ignite-UX and Cloning
If you have an integrated raid (hardware mirror), just shutdown the server, pull 1 disk and boot this one. Insert an empty disk and let the mirror rebuild.
Insert the other disk into the next server and boot, adjust hostname and IP and you are done ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
