Internet Explorer 5.0
Hello,
I've installed IE5 under 10.20 to use the integrated Outlook Express as a mail client
Everything works fine but I can't use the
@ (at) character. From Microsoft I get no
help. I use CDE, the $LANG is set to C
From HP-UX I get the @ character
As a workaround I start OE with a script
and echo "@" to have the character available.
But this is not sufficent.
regards
L. Wahl

Re: Internet Explorer 5.0
Are you running the ie client locally on the hp-ux box or on a PC ?
Have you followed the steps wrt the Iexplorer.cde and the README.hp.txt files ?
Are there any errors in /var/dt/Xservers or $HOME/.dt/errorlogs to give us a clue ?
If on a PC a font server (xfs) may need to be setup.

Re: Internet Explorer 5.0
Check your X-Windows "translations" and "key-mappings":
xmodmap -pk | more
shows you all (used) key mappings; search for "at".
Can you find it at the "right" place? If not, correct it with "xmodmap -e".
Browse through your resource files, looking for "translations: #override n".
Is there a line redefining your "@" key? Then comment this line out (with "!").
HTH,
Wodisch

Re: Internet Explorer 5.0
IE5 is installed on the UX-box
I read the files you told me.
There are no errors relating to
IE5 or fonts. Just another question
Has anybody running IE5 native on
HP-UX without this problem ?
regards
L. Wahl
