ioscan -fnC tape unable to show attached tape drives
I m not able to see tape drives attache to HP box HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800 by using command
ioscan -fnC tape
We want to configure Backup library for production system. But server is not able to detect tape drives attached through SAN switch.
As we know all zoning is proper and also another HP box with same server config as production server is able to detect tape drives through SAN.
So I want to know how can we go ahead .
Please help me in this regards if you can.
Regards
Santosh nikam

Re: ioscan -fnC tape unable to show attached tape drives
Then I conclude the following:
1) Its not attached (properly).
2) Its powered down.
3) There is a scsi conflict preventing it from being seen.
4) There is a cable or termination failure.
Try:
insf -C disk
insf -C tape (don't worry if this one doesn't work I'm curious)
insf -e
A regular ioscan
See if the little bugger shows up.
