IP Multiplexing for 11,000+ IP Addresses

Does anyone know how to add 11,000+ IP addresses?
We're doing a project right now and we were only able
to add 2046 IP addresses. I guess the localhost IP and the lan0:0 IP address will make the total IP address of the machine to 2048.

Marvin,

You can easily accomplish the add of 11,000 Ip Addresses using either Discovery (which would perform the action automagically), or with the Loadhosts command.

Hope that helps.

Albert,

I believe we don't have Discovery or Loadhosts.
We're using HP-UX 11.00 on a HP Visualize B2000
Workstation. We're only using ifconfig to add IP
addresses.

Mr. Castro,

I would suggest that you try make use of the loadhosts command. Perhaps you haven't installed it properly.

Re: IP Multiplexing for 11,000+ IP Addresses

you want to have an HP-UX 11 system with 11,000+ IP address aliases?!? i'm reasonably certain that HP does not test out to that rather extreme limit.

what sort of task are you trying to accomplish? perhaps there is a more workabole solution - maybe the use of ipfilter and NAT or something?
