Hi,
In iPlanet Web Server 4.11, What is the difference between "Key Pair File Password" and "Chalenge passphrase" ? Where do we use "Chalenge passphrase" ?
I believe while starting the secure server instance we provide "Key Pair File Password".. Right ??
Thanks,
Shiv

Solution
Shiv,
From what i know,
Key pair file password is used while creating the cert db.
While Challenge passphrase or password is used to authenticate the users to login to the domain.
While setting up the Security server's db you set the key pair file password. Also some time it may ask you while doing few maintenance work.
Hope you got answers for all..
Chan

Re: iPlanet Web Server Chalenge passphrase on hpux
Hi Shiv,
Key pair file password is used to create the public/private keys.
A challenge passphrase is the only input required to create an SSL key file. This passphrase is unretrievable
and required when creating the CSR.
Hope this is clear.
