IPv6 and HP-UX 11.0

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if HP-UX 11.0 has or had IPv6 support? Is it possible to get IPv6 on 11.0 (not 11i/11.11) as the old press release states? From what I've found it looks like it could have been there but was removed by a libc cumulative patch. Can anyone confirm this?

Not sure about this, but I think the support plus CD should have IPv6

This is the answer I should have given. The confusion probably is that the bundle for 11.11 installs in any version of HP-UX above 11, not sure about that though.

It however probably possible to get IPv6 to work with 11.00. The problem would be if anything got messed up and HP found out about it, there would be repurcussions as to the support relationship.

At this time, I have not found any source code for IPv6. If you find it and get it to compile in HP-UX it will probably work.

I will assume that downloading the depot or taking it off the Core OS cd's will not work. I'm not trying that on my 11.00 server.

IPv6 is supported on HP-UX 11.11 and higher, there are curently (to my knowledge) no plans for IPv6 to be released on HP-UX 11.00

At one point I _think_ there was (IIRC) some developer/evaluation stuff for IPv6 on 11.0. It was rather limited, and not meant for "production" work. As pointed-out, the proper place to be for IPv6 support is 11i v1.0 (aka 11.11) on PA-RISC or 11i v2.0 (aka 11.23) on IPF
