Issue related to reaching 11i v1 inside the intranet
Hello,
so, I'm having a probably stupid problem.
The hpux machine has an internal ip of 192.168.1.130 , and a name : hpc8000
if I ping or connect to it from another pc here, using the IP, I've absolutely no issues
if I ping (or etc) using the name hpc8000 , the issue starts
Ping shows 192.168.1.130 [67.xxx.xxx.xxx] hpc8000
where the [] is the ip that my adsl router shows on the internet side. If I try to add agents that pretend the hostname of the server on the pcs, they go to the internet side ip and are unable to establish a connection (they see the full qualified name as hpc8000.mynetworkprovider.homenetwork.it)
If I add an alias to 192.168.1.130, using sam , that alias is pinged - resolved as 67.xxx.xxx.xxx directly (not even traces of the internal ip).
Any idea what's configured wrong ?
