I want to backup a HPUX root disk with DRD clone. The root disk is configured with LVM with 2 physical disks.
Here the ioscan output:
root@hpsvr # ioscan -fnC disk
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=======================================================================
disk 2 0/0/3/0.0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE TEAC DV-28E-B
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0
disk 0 0/1/1/0/4/0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP LOGICAL VOLUME
/dev/dsk/c2t0d0 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s2
/dev/dsk/c2t0d0s1 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s3
disk 1 0/1/1/0/4/0.0.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP LOGICAL VOLUME
/dev/dsk/c2t0d1 /dev/dsk/c2t0d1s2 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d1 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d1s2
/dev/dsk/c2t0d1s1 /dev/dsk/c2t0d1s3 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d1s1 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d1s3
disk 7 0/3/1/0/4/0.2.0.0.0.0.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV200
/dev/dsk/c7t0d1 /dev/rdsk/c7t0d1
disk 6 0/3/1/0/4/0.2.4.0.0.0.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV200
/dev/dsk/c5t0d1 /dev/rdsk/c5t0d1
Now i added a new disk for 300 GB and tried to clone the root disk to the new disk using the following command -
/opt/drd/bin/drd clone -p -v -t -x overwrite=true /dev/disk/disk10
But the operation failed with the following errors. Can anyone provide me the details of this error.
root@hpsvr # /opt/drd/bin/drd clone -p -v -t /dev/disk/disk10

But then you have:
root@hpsvr # /opt/drd/bin/drd clone -p -v -t /dev/disk/disk10
======= 08/20/10 06:47:57 PDT BEGIN Clone System Image Preview (user=root) (jobid=hpsvr)
So you have left off the -x overwrite-true as per the error message

Re: Issues with DRD on LVM
Check the status of the disk using dd command.
Also what is the size of root vg?(#vgdisplay)
From error>>The total volume sizes in disk group: "drd_rootdg" exceed the available capacity by 56790Mb. >>
Is the current root vg size equals 56790Mb?
Compare the original LV size with the size showing in error message.
Also go through the drd log file /var/opt/drd/drd.log.
