Itanium HPUX 11.23 Oracle 9i reccomendations

I have just setup some Oracle 9i servers on Itanium with HPUX 11.23.

Oracle doesn't seem to be providing our DBAs with good info about kernel parameter settings or patches. Everything that we have found is for 11.22 only.

Also there are a couple of Kernel Parameters that seem to have disappeared in 11.23 (such as maxusers) that most of the 11.i parameters are based on.

We are using the CTC reccomendations for 9i on HPUX for the most part, but I was wondering if under 11.23 there were any special "gotchas" or hidden tricks to make it work better.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The 11.22 kernel parameters should work pretty well.

Also the 10g database parameters will work also.

Oracle hasn't published this information because they have not certified the database on 11.23. They always publish kernel parameters about the same time they add the OS/db combination to the support matrix.

I'm not sure what to do about the patch situation. I suppose look at the patch list for 11.22 and use the itrc patch database to look for equivalents.

I looked in the metalink support matrix and it is now there. Could they have just added it in the last couple of days?

The Oracle install docs usually include specifics for kernel parameters.

For example, for 10g:
