ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
It's been a while and I have been busy. I have dumped realchat for phpopenchat, for greater accessibility, efficiency and simplicity.
Unlike before, you only need TCP/443 (HTTPS) port to be open to access the chatroom. You also no longer need JRE to be running on your PC. It is also lightweight, supports more users and sports a Regulars' table where any user's last access and duration can be easily viewed.
The only issue I have with phpopenchat is not being able to get the administrative interface to work. I am working around it by manually modifying its MySQL database. Anyone knows how to fix the administrative interface issue please let me know.
Revamped ITRC forumer chatroom:
https://www.beepz.com/openchat
After signing-up and clicking on the link in the email you receive regarding your account, select" ITRC forumer chatroom" under Channel during logging in.
Please let me know of any issues. Thanks.

Tested on both Mozilla on Linux and IE on Windows, works fine with registration and logging in.
I am now both steven (Mozilla on Linux) and steven2 (IE on Windows) in the chatroom.
Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
huttond has successfully registered though I have not seen him around in the chatroom. Since the database records don't have Tux, I believe your registration did not go through. Did you click on "Register"?
Hope this helps. Regards.

Sridhar and Tux is in. Patrick's registered but don't see him around. I am using an older version of Mozilla (version 1.2.1) on RedHat 9.0.
Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
The text window doesn't seem to scroll so well.
There are occaisional error messges about header files. Probably a permissions problem.
This box, its Linux or HP-UX?

Re: ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
I know about the administrative interface issue because it was already reported as a bug by someone else to the phpopenchat developer. For the "Headers already sent" issue, I need to search whether this is a pre-existing bug, else I need to launch a bug report to the developer.

http://www.google.com.sg/search?q=%22headers+already+sent%22+phpopenchat&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search&meta
Looks like this is a common problem but not sure of the solution.
Error message:
==========================================================
Bad $rs in GetUpdateSQL. Connection or SQL invalid. Try using $connection->debug=true;
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/openchat/include/adodb/adodb-lib.inc.php:224) in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/openchat/include/class.Template.inc on line 226
==========================================================
Line 224 of adodb...:
224 printf(ADODB_BAD_RS,'GetUpdateSQL');
Line 226 of class.Template.inc:
226 header('Content-type: text/html; charset='.$_SESSION['translator']->out('CHARACTER_ENCODING'));
The error probably arises from repeat prints of html headers. I will try to comment out the html header in class.Template.inc to see if that helps.
Btw, noticed "cannot attach pic" a bug report too.

Re: ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
What remains is this error which shows as very fine print:
Bad $rs in GetUpdateSQL. Connection or SQL invalid. Try using $connection->debug=true;
I will leave this error to another day since the main eyesore "Cannot modify header" has been removed. 3 am and I am going to hit the sack.
Let me know of any other issues. Thanks.

Re: ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
Before a solution can be identified, the workaround would be to try any of the other 2 chatrooms where the username does not have a session in. Once logged in, the older session will be kicked off.
The other occurrence of "Bad $rs" is with the send message frame. However, that is a minor irritance and does not hinder the chat.
Had quite a while of online chat with Protter last night.
Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
maybe you know the following error message.
"Bad $rs in GetUpdateSQL. Connection or SQL invalid. Try using $connection->debug=true; "
I registered ( nick = raja ) and actived account with click on the link. However, I couldn't get in, because user raja was already in. Could you check it, if there is another user with nickname raja?
If there isn't another nick raja, I suppose it is bug, because I should logout or when I close IE, the session should interrupted.
Nevertheless, you did a lot of work! I look forward to chat ... :)

I only registered, clicked the link in the mail and then tried to login...
I am now in the online list, but what I found strange: I'm also a channel now ;-/

Re: ITRC forumer chatroom [revamped]
I also got a own chatroom after register - nice!
But Elmar:
Steven solution works: login in one of the other chatrooms (except your own).
After logout all should work.
I'll try loging in now
