Jet Direct card

Hi Gurus ,
I am going to add a printer in one of the HP-UX machine .

Printer Model is Epson LQ 590

Jet direct Card model is HP Jet direct 170X

so my question : whether we can add this printer with out shutting down the spooler .

If yes how we can ?

Hi Prasanth,

Spooler will be restarted as part of the printer configuration. I would suggest you to use SAM to add the printers. SAM will restart the spooler during printer addition.
