Jetadmin for HPUX 11.0

I was looking at a call on jetadmin and went to the web site and downloaded the file. When i tried to do an swinstall the software isnt being listed. Is there something i am missing?

The file i downloaded is HP11e134.SD

The file that you downloaded is the replacement (JetDirect) for JetAdmin; you really don't want JetAdmin anymore though it's still available.

After you do the swinstall (assuming that you got a good download), execute transferqueue local & respond all. This will update all your existing JetAdmin printers to JetDirect.

HP11d621.SD
HP11JP.TAR

First u install HP11JP.TAR then HP11d621.SD

You can find it if you go to hp.com and search for it. Its the direct replacement for Jetadmin for 11/11i. We use it on all our servers.

Download the file HP11d621.SD

ftp in binary mode to the unix machine.

Do a swinstall on the file.
#swinstall -s HP11d621.SD

It works.Just tried.

I went and got the file HP11d621.SD and when I tried to swinstall it swinstall didnt find the file. Is there something else that i am doing wrong?

If swinstall didn't find the file then almost certainly you didn't specify the path; try:

swinstall -s /tmp/HP11d621.SD or whenever you downloaded the depot in BINARY.

Do an ls -l /tmp/HP11d621.SD (or whatever), if that works then you may have problems with swagentd (possibly hostname resolution).

If you are facing difficulties with command line, use "swinstall" GUI:

# swinstall

Select local directory on source and give complete path of the file (eg: /tmp/Jetadmin/HP11e134.SD) Remember that all these are case sensitive.

Thanks for the help. Now I have Jetadmin D.06.21 installed on my server. Is this the most current version and/or is there another program that would work better than jetadmin.
