JetDirect and HP-UX 11: no progress indicator?
I am using JetDirect version E.10.34 on HP-UX 11i. I just noticed that unlike on earlier versions of JetDirect, that I don't get a progress indicator bar to show me the print job getting transferred to the networked printer. I used to have this on 10 and in some cases it's very handy.
Is there a way to turn this back on?

Re: JetDirect and HP-UX 11: no progress indicator?
Hi
The scripts all have a man page loaded with the HPPI/Jetdirect software
Add /opt/hpnpl/man to MANPATH and then do man of a script like
man net_ljx000
Look for jobmonitor options.
Then you can alter the printer script.

Re: JetDirect and HP-UX 11: no progress indicator?
Steve,
Thanks for the tip. I have now looked at the man page for net_ljcolor and I don't see any reference to jobmonitor options. Further, there is no string "monitor" in the actual net_ljcolor script.
I also looked through the hpnp.model script (version 1.1.1.1, 10/15/2001) in /opt/hpnpl/sh. It has a short section referencing job monitoring, and sets a couple of variables:
dsplayfile="$HPNP/etc/hpnpdisplay"
XJETMON=$HPNPBIN/xjjm
I have neither of those files on my system. I guess the whole job monitor functionality has been removed, which really sucks. Whom do I call to lodge a complaint?

Re: JetDirect and HP-UX 11: no progress indicator?
Hi
On the jetdirect bin directory is hpnpadmin with a manpage
try
hpnpadmin -bfs printer
Will give a lot of data and just the -s will show what the printer is doing.
