Just built a new server, need help with defaults
Boy it is hard condensing what I want to ask into a subject line :)
I am in the process of changing the ignite server that I am using. I reinstalled all my depots and custom configs.
Now on the old system when I would "boot lan.n.n.n.n install", the client would boot and go right into remote install mode (install via the ignite console). I don't remember ever having to manually set that up.
When I boot off the new server, it comes up and starts the console based install. I don't want that... I want it to go totally off the ignite console.
I hope that made sense :)

Re: Just built a new server, need help with defaults
Hi Paul,
I guess what you need to do is start the ignite GUI on the server, select options, in the "Server Options" tab there is the option
"Run client installation GUI on:"
By default this is set to "target"
(which is what you get now)
you want to select "none"
Hope this is what you need.
Regards
Bernhard

Re: Just built a new server, need help with defaults
Another option is to run "instl_adm -d" command and see if "run_ui" and "control_from_server" are set up as your old server or not. If not -
On old server -
instl_adm -d > /tmp/oldfile
On new server -
instl_adm -d > /tmp/newfile
edit /tmp/newfile and make above parameters same as that in /tmp/oldfile. Once done -
instl_adm -f /tmp/newfile (modified)
