Kernal parameter for maximum number of VG in 11.31

Hi,
I want tune the maximum number of Volume groups in HPUX 11.31IA. i am unable to find the kernal parameter for maximum number of VG. In HPUX11.11 it is max_vg. Could pleas tell what is the equivalent kernal parameter in HPUX11.31

Such kernel parameter does not exist
on HP-UX 11.31.

The parameter is obsolete.

Run:

# lvmadm -t

To see details on LVM limits on HP-UX 11.31.

Max number of VGs per system

In 11iv3, tunable maxvgs was removed

Version 1.0 VG
256

Version 2.0 VG
512

Version 2.1 VG
2048

It is not possible, because it has been removed, 11iv3 no longer needs such a tuneable (thank goodness!)

..in 11.31 about 73% tunable parameter are dynamic [this reduce the downtime]...many become obsolete ...max_vg is one of them...


NOw it depend on the version of Vg as said by Robert-Jan Goossens
