Keyboard Selection

Dear Friends,
I have installed HP-UX 10.20 in HP C400 Workstation. At the time of installation I have selected U.K. as Keyboard type. Now my requirement is to change this to U.S. w/o reloading the O.S.

Can it be done.

Thanks in advance.
Everything is possible

Re: Keyboard Selection

Edit or remove the /etc/kbdlang file : you'll need to reboot :

if you remove it , the O/S will prompt you to selct one of about 30-40 settings available, if you edit it you need to know the keyboard/language you require : I'd suggest removing it ! and maybe keep a b/u just in case :)

Re: Keyboard Selection

there are 2 methods :-

1. rm /etc/kbdlang and then reboot the machine. It will prompt you at boot up (this is nice and clean)

2. run /sbin/itemap -iL

This should change it online. (check the /etc/kbdlang file before and afterwards).
