kill process

I hv some strange processes , but can't kill even kill -9 , how to kill it? thx

If kill -9 won't do it, the only answer is to reboot.

kill -9 forced termination.
If this does not work,then you need to wait if the application terminates after certain time.

If the application is not designed in such a way,REBOOT

Hi,

Can you show us these processes us ps -el?

I can think of a few reasons:

1) Its a system process
2) Its a zombie
3) Its waiting on IO

Processes with a priority between 128-153 cannot be signalled, even with -9. Either its a system process that should only exit during a shutdown or a system/user processes waiting on IO.
