kmupdate error using Ignite_UX

I've recently started getting a kmupdate error when using Ignite-UX to build servers. We are using HP-UX B.11.11. For many years I have created a monthy "master" Ignite tape on an L2000-44. I then use this tape to build other machines (various models but similar: L1000-36, L1000-44, L1500-5X, L1500-7X). Hard drive sizes are the same. I have never had any issues with this process. Recently the process will fail dring the kmupdate (near the end of the Ignite process). I have attached a screen shot of console with error - basically vmunix_test is not a valid kernel file so I'm thinking the kernel fails to compile previous to this step. The tape has never failed to work on the server it was originally created on (even now). Originally I thought the failure was isolated to going from L2000 to L1000 or L1500, but I've tried more tests and now get failures when I create a tape on L1000-36 and try to restore on L1000-44. Hoping I'm just overlooking something - I haven't played with any kernel parameters yet for this issue. More notes below:

All servers are up to date on firmware.

Originally using 4GB swap on root disk - increased to 5GB and still get error.

Currently using Ignite-UX C.7.4.157. I upgraded to latest ver (C.7.11.444) still get error.

Get the error on machines with more and less physical RAM than server used to create master tape

Re: kmupdate error using Ignite_UX

I feel already a /stand/build/vmunix_test file exists before compiling the kernel.

can you please delete the existing vmunix_test and try on interactive recovery shell..
