Ksh Patch Question.

Hi Team:

We are working in an Xemulated environment in 11.0. I have concern with a patch PHCO_22712 the ksh cumulative patch. I remember some problems associated with PHCO_20018 with 10.20 and xemulation. We are having problems in 11.0 when the user clicks on the X button and the process runs away owned by init. Please Advise.

Thanks
Brian.

Re: Ksh Patch Question.

Hi:

Looking into the thread can i assume that i have to remove the PHCO_22712 Patch since it causes the same behavior?

Please Advise.
Thanks
Brian.

Re: Ksh Patch Question.

Hi,

That's what I meant by looking at the previous patch I mentioned in my first reply !
I would try to remove the patch and see if it goes well.

Re: Ksh Patch Question.

Hi,

Backing out or removing patch PHCO_22712 will
re-introduce PHCO_22020 as the current patch
assuming it is still on your system. Use
the 'swremove' interactive program to do the
work. Suggest you create an ignite backup tape
prior to doing the work. Any patch work should
be proceeded with cutting an ignite tape.

# make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -I -v -a /dev/rmt/0mn
(change the device as required for your system)

One way to see if the patch is still on your
system:

# swlist -l patch -a supercedes PHCO_22712
