LAN Card and Disk replacement

We have a scheduled change today where lan2 and disk (c5t0d0) needs to be replaced. i ran a pvdisplay -v on the /dev/dsk/c0t0d0 and it comes up with lvol1 and lvol2 on vg01. Please let me know if these steps are ok.

1. apps/db down
2. backup lvol1 and lvol2 mount points (vg01)
3. umount both the lvols
4.shutdown the machine
5. replace disk and lan card
6. bring up machine
7. restore data to lvols
8. brings up apps

I assume here that the lan card will just pick up the ip from netconf when it comes up

Thanks

Brian

Re: LAN Card and Disk replacement

Hi Brian:

There's a bit more you need to concern yourself with for your disk. Have a look here:

Re: LAN Card and Disk replacement

WRONG. c5t0d0 seems to be a mirror.

so it is a replacing a mirror disk (non-root)

so just replace and do vgcfgrestore for vg01?

Thanks
