I'm trying to find out what the latest version of sysinfo by Scott Truesdale is. I've seen several threads about this in the forum - yet I find the answer(s) quite confusing. People have been saying that 3.3.1 is the latest version, yet when I go to the site to download it, it says that it is as old as 1997, and doesn't support HP 9000/800 series of servers. We currently run susinfo version 2.04 (which was released around the year 2000).
Any help to locate the actual latest sysinfo would be appreciated. Oh, and yes, I do award points.
Merry Christmas to all.
Regards,
Jo

Re: Latest version of sysinfo ...
Search the knowledge base for document id: KBRC00009087
There is a direct link on that page. Otherwise, you can go to www.software.hp.com and select the link at the bottom for public domain software. Search on sysinfo.

SolutionOne other note....
The 'sysinfo' script that you refer to by Scott Truesdale is an internal HP script that I cannot send out. The info I have sent you is for an unsupported sysinfo script from a shareware site. This isn't the script that was created by Scott but should provide you with the functionality you are looking for. This is also the reason you are getting references to two different versions.
Hope this Helps!

http://www.unixguide.net/scripts/sysinfo150
Last line of changelog is:
1.50 08/06/98 fixed kernel parms on 10.x & 11.x
There *is* a warning that it's not supported by HP, and given the changes since '98, it could probably use a serious makeover.

Re: Latest version of sysinfo ...
If your looking for a sysinfo type of script, might I suggest the following. First get hold of your HP REP in NZ, and ask him/her for a copy of 'SIR' (System Information Reporter). What this tool does is collect valuable information from your server and generates a web page(s) for it. What I've done is set a server that collects all the other servers information and have a web page for each. I also have a job that runs once a week to make updates.

Re: Latest version of sysinfo ...
In general terms, I guess you want a tool that will collect and display configuration and hardware information about your servers, and be compatible across multiple versions of the OS (r u still running that 735 box?)

Apparently it is free. I have never used it myself but it might keep someone amused for a little while.

Re: Latest version of sysinfo ...
Try this previous post from Bill:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x3820eea29889d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html
This contains an attachment of the latest SysInfo of that time. It covers MC/SG, XP Arrays, etc.
You may also want to take a look at the contributed utilities under sysadmin/inventory at:
ftp://contrib:9unsupp8@hprc.external.hp.com/sysadmin/
So graciously provided by Bill Hassell in a previous post.
