Legato Networker error

Hi
This might not be the right forum but I'll try anyway:
We using Legato Networker 5.5.1 and keep getting the following error on one HP-UX 11.00 server, when applying lots of directives.

* bico_utv:/ save: bad file name / in stdin directives, ignored
* bico_utv:/ save: ignoring illegal external ASM name `nbico_utv' in stdin directives
bico_utv: / level=incr, 167 KB 00:00:20 12 files

The backup job succeeds and seems to be OK.

Anyone heard of this?

Andreas

Re: Legato Networker error

Are these incremental backups that are giving that error? Could it be that the file name has been changed and the i-node still exists? If that is the case then maybe Networker has a hard time comparing this file to its media database? Have you checked the Knowledge Base on the Legato site?

Re: Legato Networker error

It sounds like one of your directives is incorrect or messed up.

I see in the messages where it looks like the system name is bico_utv but one of the messages says something about nbico_utv. Is there a typo in one of the directives?

Re: Legato Networker error

Hi
Have been in touch with the Legato support people, and it seems that my directive was to long.
Have been testing with shorter parts of the directive,(then also eliminating typo's,) and no error showed up.
So it looks like the size of the directive is the catch here.
Fortunately I was able to rewrite the directive, still getting it to do what I want it to.

Thanks anyway.
Andreas
