i get the message( see attached file ) that the storage manager is expecting a tape?!
but if do a tape in it is the same...
we do not do a backup. the only thing i did on that machine was to make a:
make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -l -v -a /dev/rmt/0mn
how can i configure the lagato storage manager the right way?!

SolutionBasicly the bug is LSM is automaticly installed with some version of oracle.
You have two options. one is to disable the LSM software, second one is to remove it.
Check the /sbin/init.d (/sbin/rc2.d/ + /sbin/rc3.d/ the links )for the startup script for lsm.
use the start/stop script to kill the lsm sofware and remove the links from the rc2 rc3 directory.
Hope this helps,
Robert-Jan

Re: Legato Storage Manager
The legato storage manager(LSM)also got installed as part of your Oracle installation(may be with typical installation). LSM will appear as a separate product if you try swlist, and this can be removed safely, using swremove.

RDL.
