libpng not working

I've installed libpng 1.0.6c and zlib 1.1.3 but whenever I try to open a .png file it will dump core and usually complain about a segmentation fault. This happens when I use programs like xpaint or gif2png on .png files. I installed the packages from binary depots at the HPUX Porting archive.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I was wondering if one of the two packages were corrupt...
(Running HPUX 11.00 on a J5600)

Well, I hope the programs USE the new libraries. Try rebuilding the apps if the libs are linked into the binaries!
Postfix/BIND/Security/IDS/Scanner, you name it...
