License Key Database Corrupt

Received following err msg upon reboot. Not sure how to diagnose and/or correct. I've ignited this system from another system last week.

Re: License Key Database Corrupt

Hi Joe,

Was this a message on the console? Have you looked at /etc/rc.log?

Sounds like an application is trying to be started by an rc script but the app's database (and perhaps the app itself) is not present because it was not included in the Ignite backup / recovery.

Re: License Key Database Corrupt

Hi Joe:

You need to obtain or generate a license key for the product as it is running on the current system. License keys are usually generated based on the server's identification (as derived from 'uname -i').

Re: License Key Database Corrupt

Your License management Facility license key database is corrupted as indicated in the syslog. Try reinstalling it.

Re: License Key Database Corrupt

Message was on the console. I believe it's for Micro Focus Cobol. I'm not even sure how to reinstall it, any assistance would be appreciated.

Ty in advance.

Re: License Key Database Corrupt

Hi Joe:

You could be missing a crucial license data file - most of the wind up in /usr, /etc, or somewhere in / OR (and this is very likely)
the licensing is somehow tied to the MAC address - typically lan0 or the SPU ID. These types of licensing are very often the downfall of disaster recovery plans because you don't know these MAC addresses or SPU ID's in advance so that licenses can be obtained.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: License Key Database Corrupt

Hi Joe,

Here is the LMF Admin manual. Didn't go through but I guess it should cover how to re-install the License keys.
