LockDisplay and dtaction

Using HPUX 10.20 a user logs in. That user then runs another program that prompts for a password and using the "sticky-bit" the program becomes another user. From that program we want to be able to lock the screen using 'dtaction LockDisplay', but we can't because the display is owned by the user that originally logged in. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?
