start as lpsched -v
Check for log file.(/var/adm/lp/log)
Also check if sched creates LOCK file in /var/spool/lp directory.
Post the results.

Look at /var/adm/lp/*.log files. You should get information from there.
If you are using jetadmin, then you can run diagnostics from the jetadmin -> diagnostics menu.
Look at the permissions of
/etc/lp/interface/model.orig. It should be set to lp:bin with 755.

SolutionThen do a ps -ef|grep lpsched
Just check any other lpsched processes are running.
Do a kill -11
else do a
kill -9
Then rm the files FIFO,SCHEDLOCK from /var/spool/lp
It is using too much CPU because of two copies are running(might be)
Restart lpsched.
Also check the latest patches for lp as suggested above
REvert
