mailq question - deferred??

So...I get in this morning, and my usual (e-mailed) status reports aren't in my in box.
"mailq" reports the following:

HAA04550 874 Wed Apr 16 07:15 root
(host map: lookup (xzy.com): deferred)
a12345@xzy.com
b12345@xzy.com
c12345@xzy.com
d12345@xzy.com

Is "(host map: lookup (xzy.com): deferred)" trying to tell me that it can't
find "xyz.com" and that's why it's deferred? If not, then:
a) what is it trying to tell me -and-
b) how do I resolve it


And it is just me, or have forums been slower than normal the last couple of weeks?

seems the network group decided to move the relay....telling the windows admins, but not the unix admins.....
