make_net_recovery problem
When I run make_net_recovery, I am getting the following error.
# make_net_recovery -s 10.95.11.94
* Creating NFS mount directories for configuration files.
ERROR: Could not make directory:
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/client_mnt/0x001083FDCD22: Permission denied
(errno = 13)
ERROR: Failed creating the directory
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/client_mnt/0x001083FDCD22:Permission denied
(errno = 13)
ERROR: Failed to create NFS mount directories for configuration files.
======= 04/14/08 15:16:12 EST make_net_recovery completed unsuccessfully
I can manually mount /var/opt/ignite/recovery/client_mnt directory from 10.95.11.94 and create a directory or file .
Below is the exportfs output on ignite server.
# exportfs
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/client_mnt -anon=2
I would appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance.

Re: make_net_recovery problem
you should have in exportfs:
/var/opt/ignite/clients -anon=2
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/HOSTNAMEOFSERVER -anon=2
then:
#exportfs -av
Both of the dirs should have bin:bin perms

Re: make_net_recovery problem

Sandy

Re: make_net_recovery problem
Orange_adm, /var/opt/ignite/clients directory was owned by root:sys. Once I changed that to bin:bin it started working. Now I have a different problem. I have a newer version of Ignite on the client. So I am getting this error.
# make_net_recovery -s 10.95.11.94
* Creating NFS mount directories for configuration files.

* Checking Versions of Recovery Tools
ERROR: The version of the tools used for system recovery on "dsmprod" is

need to either update the version of Ignite-UX on the server or
down-date the version on "dsmprod"
======= 04/14/08 19:10:21 EST make_net_recovery completed unsuccessfully
Ignite version on the client is C.7.4.157 & the server version is C.7.2.94.
Where can I download C.7.2.94 Ignite software?

Re: make_net_recovery problem
Find older version of Ignite is easy if you have copies of install media around. HP only offers the latest, greatest version from their download website, however.
If you just need to sync up the Ignite versions to create a recovery image, you should have everything you need already. No old media required.
Here's what you can do.
On your Ignite server, try 'swlist -l depot' and see if there is any depot named like '/var/opt/ignite/depots/recovery_cmds'.
If not, you can create it with the '/opt/ignite/lbin/pkg_rec_depot' cmd.
Remove any other Ignite version from your target. Then install this 'IUX-Recovery' bundle on the client. This should allow you to create a recovery image with matching versions.
This is covered on page 4 of this whitepaper: http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-1977/5992-1977.pdf
