Re: make_recovery failed- nftw: file name too long

Hi BR,

Look under /var/opt/ignite/latest/recovery.log for more errors. Also do 'tail flist' and see the last file.

This may be most likely due to a bizarre file/directory under / filesystem.

If you don't find any clue in recovery.log or flist, then run 'find / -xdev' and see if you observe any file with bizarre name or recurring directory paths. Fix the file and re-run it again.

Just a quick note to mention that make_recovery is phased out in favour of make_tape_recovery (tape archive) and make_net_recovery (network based archive).

Re: make_recovery failed- nftw: file name too long

You are using an obsoleted command.
Make sure you update the latest version of Ignite for 11.00 otherwise you will be missing many critical fixes and enhancements.
Version B.5.4 June 2004 is available from http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/download.html

The 338 adn 346 error means that off of / directory you have a particular directory that has too many subdirectories causing the filename to be too long. You will need to clean up / in order to use Ignite.
