Either the install of Ignite-UX was corrupted our not all of Ignite was installed. What does the output of

/usr/sbin/swlist Ignite-UX

show?

The latest version of Ignite is c.6.2.x. I would use swremove to get rid of your current and then swinstall the latest.

Ron, did you look for the file:

/opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.00/INSTALL

and verify it's existance?

I think I would follow the others suggestions and swremove all of the installed Ignite stuff and re-install the latest. If you didn't swremove the old version prior to installing the new one you have a mixed install. Strange things occur with a mixed install, so it is always better to swremove Ignite before installing the new version. Good luck.

You need to download the newest version and install it.

I ran into this problem with Ignite C.6.1.44 and I got around it by installing the ENTIRE Ignite bundle (for all HP-UX versions - 11.0, 11.11,11.22 and 11.23).

As Patrick noted, there was a problem in the packaging of C.6.1.44 where installing just the Ignite-UX-11-00 bundle didn't bring along the Install kernel ( which is 11.11 based ). If you have access to the Ignite-UX-11-11 C.6.1.44 bundle you can swinstall that along with the 11.00 bundle and you will have what you need to do 11.00 recovery. Also as noted, this has been fixed in C.6.2.
