make_tape_recovery

After upgraded my ignite to A3.5. I am no able to run make_tape_recovery. I used to run make_recocery without problem.
make_tape_recovery seem started correctly, it give me an error stated:
awk: Cannot devide by zero
after about minutes of running at the part where "Archiving contests of via tar image to local device /dev/rmt...."
I am using option -A -I -P s
-x inc_entire=vg00
-x exclude=/tmp_mnt
-x exclude=/view
-x exclude=/net
-a /dev/rmt/....
My HP-UX version is 10.20 running on K460 server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: make_tape_recovery

Hi,

I always thought the "make_tape_recovery"
only worked on HPUX 11. On 10.20 systems
we use
'make_recovery -ACvd /dev/rmt/0mn

Re: make_tape_recovery

Hi,

Try using:
/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/0mn -I -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -x exclude=/tmp_mnt -x exclude=/view
-x exclude=/net

You can find a lot of threads by going to search.hp.com and searching for

Re: make_tape_recovery

Ignite/UX functionality is THE SAME between the A (for HP-UX 10.X) and B (for HP-UX 11.X) versions. make_tape_recovery works on both and has been there since the earlier 3.X versions (3.2.X or 3.3.X).

As for the problem - I recall having that problem in the past on a J5000 running 11.0 I just checked past software calls, and this was reporting with Ignite 3.3.116 and no fix was ever posted even though the call was closed.
