master clock
what i am about to ask you is a new configuration.
we have an hp server model 9000/899 installs hp-ux version 11;
with a x25 card connected to one of the slots of server.
the x25 card has the following data
#lanscan
Address in# state NamePPA ID Type upport Mjr#
0x000000000000 up ixe80 7 X25 no 242
this server supports ots(OSI transport services) in order to communicate
with this card i can configure and communicate with x25 card by commands supported by this service like (otsstat,otsstart,otsdiag...etc)
can i use the clock of the x25 data to become as areference clock to the hp server
(as stratum 1) ?
then configure my server as ntp server to the whole netowrk
please tell me how can i do this?
thanks and best regards

Re: master clock
Never came across something like that. You still can sync you X25 card time to that of OS time.
And as you moght already be aware you can refer your local clock as your time source.
