max. lan cards in APA

Hi,

I realised APA supports max. of 4 lan cards in one link aggregation. Is there any way we can increase this?

Thanks.

Re: max. lan cards in APA

Hi,

Only with the LAN monitor configuration mode, APA offers a max of up to 32 ports per link aggregate.

Apart from that, I think you are stuck with 4 ports per link aggregate.

Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: max. lan cards in APA

in the latest versions of APA (11.11.07) and higher the number of cards was enhanced to 32 , also the type of card usable and the number of indivual cards per type where adapted , this is described in the Us a HP Auto port Aggregation (APA) manual you can find on the URL :

www.docs.hp.com

just search it for APA and a whole list of manuals release notes and documentation is there for you information , this should answer any question you have regardsing APA and it's prerequisits/limitations , be aware that differences exist for 10.20 and 11.x implementations!!!

Re: max. lan cards in APA

Thanks guys,

Actually I am using 11.00 and the APA version is 11.00.08 and the latest available is 11.00.16. DO you think if I load updated version then I can add more than 4 ports? I don't want to configure lan monitor at this point.

Re: max. lan cards in APA

the reply to your question is YES , if you go to version .16 you are able to use up to 32 ports in one aggregate , just look at the manual I described in my previous entry , it is all detailed in there
