MC/SG and JFS 3.3


I just installed JFS 3.3 on both clusert boxes and want to upgrade my shared volumes from version 3 layout to version 4 layout using vxupgrade.

Doing this upgrade on the one server which currently has this LV's mounted do I have to do something on the other server ??

No, is the answer, as you are doing this on the lvol that is shared, and once it is done on one node, any changes are ON the lvol, and therefore go with it. All you need to ensure is that you have the sw for that version on all nodes, plus patches.

Hi Rainer:

I think you can do the upgrade on one node and "be done", since information about a logical volume is determined by LVM at the time a volume group is activated.
