I've been running MC/SG with 3 nodes and it's version is A.11.12 running with HP-UX 11.0.
Now, we plan to replace one node that is rp7400 with rp8400.
Question.
rp8400 is going to run with HP-UX 11i whileas the other nodes with HP-UX 11.0.
Do you think that this will cause any problems ?
Anyway, the entire of systems will load the same MC/SG version, that is, A.11.12.
Thank you for your attention.

Re: MC/SG with a different version of HP-UX.
In a few months ago, we are using 2 L2000 servers running HP-UX 11.0 . Then in May, we migration one server to rp8400 and have the MC/SG running between one rp8400 and one L2000.
Before we have such migration, we have consult HP about this. I remember that OS version is not an issue but the version of MC/SG must be the same all over the node.
However in order not to have any unpredictable errors (due to our management's decision), we finally upgrade all the servers to the same OS 11i, of course the MC/SG version.
Regards,
Patrick

Re: MC/SG with a different version of HP-UX.
If I upgrade the product up to date on all nodes in the cluster,
Can I mix different versions of HP-UX 11.X within one cluster ?

Re: MC/SG with a different version of HP-UX.
Yes you can. You can even install one of them as an Installation Server and fire installations to the other non-HP-UX 11i nodes and works fine as well.
You can even have non-HP-UX nodes (Windows nodes). But, obviously, you can't fire an installation to such nodes; you'll have to install another installation server on a Windows node.
HTH,
Vince

Re: MC/SG with a different version of HP-UX.
Sorry for my answer... was still asleep! Somehow I thought you were referring to Omniback!
Will you slap me so that I am fully awake? :-)
