memory leaks in HP-UX 11?
I've got a number of older boxes (mostly B180's with 256MB) with swap configured at 2 x memory. even with no user activity their swap space will erode (swapinfo -at) until you can no longer log in. The only way out is to reboot the box - closing apps and windows will recoup some swap but not much. Increasing device swap extends the uptime but doesn't fix the problem.
Our environment is heavily yp'd and makes use of lots of automounted nfs services. we also use Legato networker for enterprise backup.

It shouldn't be any higher the 10 in most cases. If you run glance take a look a the buffer cache. If this is high it would indicate that you need to ajust the parmeter.

You need to use glance and watch the processes, because something is broken. Check for processes that are consuming a lot of memory. I've got quite a few 11 boxes, and we see nothing like that. It could be Legato, nfs, or yp'.

vi /etc/rc.config.d/SNMP*
Set all the =1 values to =0. At the next reboot, all SNMP tools will be disabled. These are only monitoring tools and do not affect HP-UX, only the ability of external programs to monitor the system.
