I was wondering if anyon can shed some light on a particular issue I am experiencing.
I am running hp-ux 10.20 on 2 K570 servers in a 2 node service gaurd cluster.
I added 1gig of memory to both machines as well as 1 X 200MHz cpu on one server and 2 x 200MHz cpu on the other server. Both servers are now running with 2gig memory and 4 x 200 MHz cpu.
Before the upgrade I did not have a memory problem. Now after adding a gig of memory to each server, I get out of memory error messages. When I do the swapinfo command, the memory utilisation is at 100% and I have to reboot the server every time to sort it out. I get this also on both nodes.
This never use to happen before the memory upgrade. I have attached my kernel parameters as well.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Re: Memory usage on hp-ux10.20
Yes the first point to go for should be to reduce dbc_max_pct to the range of 15-20. Also have you made any other changes after upgrade?

Re: Memory usage on hp-ux10.20
Thanks for the tip, I will try this to see if it helps. Unfortunately, I can only do this when I get the ok from the users as this is a live site. I will do the change on the secondary node in the mean time.
No, I have made no other changes to the system.

Re: Memory usage on hp-ux10.20
It looks more a hardware problem.
Has the engineer who put in the memory put the greatest memory in the first memory bank.
further more did you als done a firmware upgrade of your backplane to support the new cpu? Normaly this will help to get ride of the problem.

Re: Memory usage on hp-ux10.20
I have not assigned any points to you yet as I have only switched them to the other server today where I changed the paramater.
I will let you know in due course.
