Memory utilisation on 11.31

Dear Gurus,

In my 11.31 machine system memory utilisation if very high .

Total VM : 46.1gb Sys Mem : 14.1gb User Mem: 29.3gb Phys Mem : 48.0gb
Active VM: 32.9gb Buf Cache: 1mb Free Mem: 882mb FileCache: 3.6gb

We are using HP openview for generating alerts once memory goes above.We are alays getting alert saying memory at threshold.But from in server or users side no performance impact at all..I belive 11.31 OS using effective caching memory mechansim compared to 11.23 OS .

How to reduce the utilisation?

Hi Need to check

1. Vx_ninode ( know issue check the customer advisory)

2. File chache
3. Install the latest paches for memory leak issues . One of your kernal arena must be grabing memory.( search with "leak" in patch database). If you have contract with HP, they will give you kmeminfo to analyse this.

Check with tools like 'glance' what is actually running and using memory.
