Metro Cluster SRDF behavior

Hi All,
I have a question about a metro cluster made with SRDF EMC tech.
we have two symmetrix boxes between metrocluster will be configured. One of these will be syncronized from another symmetrix box located in another state via SRDF. At this point we cannot wait finishing of the second one SRDF syncronization process.
The question is: if I start the package on node linked to first box without srdf configuration file , when sync process will be finished, can I halt the pkg and starts it on second node using srdf configuration file? The SRDF switch personality (R1-->R2 and vice versa) will be done correctly?
Thanks to All.

Re: Metro Cluster SRDF behavior

Giorgio,
assumiing that you are on EMC SRDF Version A.04.00 and A.11.16 for Serviceguard,

You can do what you want but in a real failover scenario it will not work automatically. You definitely need the pkg_name_srdf.env file at all the nodes in the metro cluster.

What I would suggest is :
Start the package on node linked to the first box without srdf.env file when sync will finish, halt the package and restart the package on the same node with the srdf.env file and then you may fail over to the other node. In this way the switch personality will be done correctly.

thanks
