Re: Migrate HP-UX configuration

Hi,

Once solution is to create a ignite save and restore it on the second server , before restoring ,specify restore to different hardware in advanced menu (option to set)

If you have some data to be restored , save by fbackup and restore by frestore

I didn't have a link to give you, sorry.

Re: Migrate HP-UX configuration

Copy everything in /etc, i.e., /etc/passwd, /etc/group, /etc/profile, ...

Here's a link about 'saving configuration files' before a O/S update or installation. Note that this is one page of several and you'll have to click on the 'next' or 'prev' buttons.

Re: Migrate HP-UX configuration

Hi,

first question - what's your new hardware?
second - do you need 10.20?
It's not longer supported - you should go to 11i!
What os is delivered with your new hardware?

You should copy/print out:
/etc/passwd, /etc/group, /etc/hosts.

(There should be something similar for 11i)
