Re: Migrating MCSG to a new server platform
I don't think we understand you yet. Are you referring to the package hostnames? If so, they are simply entries in /etc/hosts, NIS, or DNS - whatever you use for normal hostname resolution. MC/SG only cares about IP addresses. The IP Addresses that don't move - the stationary address and the package IP addresses that can move.

SolutionLike stated already, if what you are referring to are the virtual hosts that are associated with the package ip addresses, then you needn't concern yourself with that as MCSG only manages the ip address itself. If you are using the /etc/hosts file just be sure the virtual hosts are in there and then just add the node(s) to the cluster using cmquerycl, run your cmcheckonf and cmaplyconf and bring the node(s) into the cluster, which may be done online. when you are satisfied that your new configuration will work, just delete the old nodes out of the cluster, if that is your plan (also online). Make sure you save your old cluster config first with cmgetconf in case things go awry.
Good luck
Chris

Re: Migrating MCSG to a new server platform
As long as these are direct connect & not physically in the network the IPs & host alias' can be whatever you want & should be placed in the hosts file.
These are not "created" by any cmxxxx command you have to set these up via SAM, ifconfig or brought over with the netconf file.
Rgds,
Jeff
