							Minimum set of packages

						Hello All,
We have a bunch of HP servers (R/K/G/D classes) in a production environment. These servers run Oracle/Informix and some custom applications. Operators log in using remote X-servers (Windows Based). The servers themselves have no graphical capabilities.
My current task is to reduce the disk space used on those servers by removing unnecessary packages. I've been able to clear out a lot of disk space by removing the trial bundles, Netscape browser and Server (which we never used) and the like.
There are however packages like "netstation", "enware" and some others for which I find no documentation. I reckon netstation must be for servers with graphical consoles only (so they can act as a workstation) or so.
Question is: What are the mininum required packages on such a system (Server without graphics capabilities and clientes logging in using a remote Xserver).
Thanks
Paga

Netstation and enware are packages for X-Terminals (dumb terminals capable of X only). If you dont have any of these, and lets face it most people have PC's on their desks nowadays which can run MS apps AND X emulators so you could remove these 2.
If users still XDM into your HP servers you need almost all your graphical packages. Everything is under the HPUXEng64RT (or 32) main bundles. Xserver, X11, CDE etc. You cant really remove any of them.
Have you tried other ways of reducing disk space ? things like committing old patches (so that /var/adm/sw/save is 0 in size) etc.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

If you are desparate, you can look for (and delete) postscript files (usually documentation manuals), and programming examples.
