Re: Mirror Copy

Hi,

From lvextend page manual :

# man lvextend

-m mirror_copies

Set the number of mirror copies allocated for each logical extent. A mirror copy contains the same data as the original. mirror_copies can have the value 1 or 2. It must be greater than the current value.

Hope this information can help you.

Re: Mirror Copy

hi,

mirror copies can have the value 1 or 2, default is 0. "man lvcreate", search for mirror copies.

Max PV is the maximum allowable physical volumes (disks) in a volume group. "man vgdisplay" for more info.

Re: Mirror Copy

You can mirror on all the PV's you want, but the wise way to do it, is to make mirrors on different things. Otherwise if you have mirror on the same disk and it fails, your mirror was useless.

Because of it, it depends on the number of PV's you have in VG. Once the VG created and was declared with X of PV's there (man vgcreate), it cannot be used.

To check num of PV's use "vgdisplay" command.

Re: Mirror Copy

Hi Tvs ,

The mirror copies can be 1 or 2 .
The default value is 0.

To mirror copies normally we keeps 2.
-----------
Further can be check
# man lvcreate
# man lvextend

You need to have additional Mirror/UX , ( priced product.)

Hope this will help .

Cheers ,
Raj.
