Re: Mirror-UX

You can use an older CD, the CD's aren't locked by a code word. Mirrorux is on disk 1.

Re: Mirror-UX

Hi Charles:

MirrorDisk/UX is almost always on Disk 1 of any Applications CD set. I would simply choose your latest application set. Do a swlist -s /cdrom (assuming /cdrom is your mountpoint) to make sure that MirrorDisk/UX is on the disk. You will not see it with swinstall until you have received a codeword and done an 'Actions->Add New Codeword'. The codeword MUST match the CD Part No. so no you cannot use an old codeword with a different disk. When you find a CD with the software on it, login in to http://licensing.hp.com/site=ITRC?LANGUAGE_OPTION=english and receive a new codeword.

Re: Mirror-UX

Last I checked into this, it cost $300 per server for the license to run it.

Has the cost changed to free?

Re: Mirror-UX

Hi Charles,

Mirror-UX is protected by code-word. It is a licensed product and the code-word is generated using the CD part No, HP aggrement no and those sort of details. Depending on the OS version and release you have, mirror UX can be on any application CD.

If you have a licensed copy of Mirror-UX and have upgraded the OS / release under HP agreement you should be able to get new code-words for the same.

Here is a link where you can generate code-words from itrc.

Hope this helps.

Re: Mirror-UX

John,

The cost is "tiered" - depends upon the server class. WHat I meant by the CD's not being locked, is that the software can be on the CD's, but to use it you must "unlock" (license key) it.

Re: Mirror-UX

HI
MirrorDisk/UX is on Disk 1 of the Application CD set. You will need the codeword to see the product using swinstall. The codeword need to match the CD Part No.

Thanks.
Prashant.
Take it as it comes.
