When I mount the and type swinstall the resulting GUI does not show MirrorDisk in the list of available software. When I do "swlist -s /mnt/cd" MirrorDisk does show up in the list.
Also, I have no idea what to do in the system to prep the unused disk to be used as a mirror.
Obviously I'm in way over my head here, can anyone help?
Thanks,
Constance Cate

SolutionWhen you go into the swinstall GUI, go to Actions --> Add new Codeword and enter in your information. You should then be able to see your MirrorDisk/UX software selection. As for the PRoceedures for mirroring your disks, see the attached document our group has typed up. This is for mirroring vg00, but leave off the boot area commands for data disks.
Hope this helps
Chris

Re: MirrorDisk
You then need to run swinstall, anbd select Install CodeWord, and put in th ecodeword.
Tis should then allow you to see the MirrorDisk prodiuct.
select it, install it, and then have a read of:
Managing Systems and Workgroups: A
Guide for HP-UX System Administrators
availabale at:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90742/B2355-90742.html
and under:
Managing File Systems you will find a section:
Managing Mirrored File Systems
which will explain ti to you.
best of luck
