Mirrored Disk Not Seen in EFI Menu
Hello,
I have a RX2620. We have been trying to mirror the root disk and have been unsuccessful in doing so. Yes, we do have a license for MirrorDisk.
We have completed all the procedures that are in docID KBRC00011156. We then reboot the system to boot to the mirrored disk. In the EFI menu we have verified (many times) the alternate boot path listed and have tried to boot to this alternate drive. We are continuely given an error message of "Disk not found". We thought maybe we had a "bad OS load" But after re-loading the systime about 5 times we still receive the same errors after mirroring. We have had HP Techs out here to look and they too are stumped.
Here is some information on the system:
lvlnboot -v
Boot Definitions for Volume Group /dev/vg00:
Physical Volumes belonging in Root Volume Group:
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s2 (0/1/1/0.1.0) -- Boot Disk

I am very frustrated at this point so if there is something I am not doing please let me know
Thank you

Re: Mirrored Disk Not Seen in EFI Menu
Ross,
Can you post the results of # ioscan -fenC as well (this will show the EFI device paths? Also how about a 'map -r' output from the EFI Shell? This will show how the EFI layer sees your disks. It looks like they are internal disks, so it shouldnt matter, but you never know. Something may not look right.

Re: Mirrored Disk Not Seen in EFI Menu
Hello Bob,
Thanks for responding to the issue at hand.
I think we got the problem licked!
It seems to be a corrupt EFI entry.
We had HP CE out here and for three hours everyone was looking and guessing what the problem could be. It appears that in EFI you are given the choice of which drive to boot to.
Well the paths were all OK but for whatever reason the EFI was unable to interpret one of the paths. The HP CE reloaded some software "refreshing" the EFI and now all works
Thanks for the help

Re: Mirrored Disk Not Seen in EFI Menu
Hello All,
I ran into this same issue. I verified all the path's and everything "appeared" to be in order however, we could not boot to the HA Alternate bootpath. This was solved by re-running the setboot -h command.
